What is TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

Our event is called TEDxBrisbane, where x=independently organised TED event. At the TEDxBrisbane event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organised.

The first event is scheduled for March 6th, 2010 at State Library of Queensland. TEDxBrisbane is being co-hosted by Paul Fairweather and Carl Lindgren and under official license by TED. In the spirit of the main TED conference, TEDxBrisbane will challenge some of Brisbane and Queenslands most prolific thinkers and doers to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less.
